CASTING FIDELITY

CURRENTLY IN POST-PRODUCTION

SYNOPSIS

The filmmakers of CASTING FIDELITY claim that all of the recordings contained in their film are actually taken from the auditions for a film that was unfortunately abandoned and never made.

Set during a series of auditions for an unnamed film, CASTING FIDELITY is like a jigsaw puzzle with actors as pieces. Eventually, the portrait of a filmmaker and three of the different women in his life is revealed: his mistress "Dora", his ex-student "Stacy" and an unnamed woman who could be his girlfriend. While their conversations all deal with friendship, sex, romantic love, etc., the underlying theme of deception burrows through the entire film. In the end, everyone may not only be deceiving one another and even themselves, but the film itself may be a complete deception for the viewer as well!

Sharp, funny, and wildly provocative, CASTING FIDELITY evokes the dual sense of thinking you know what is going on, but having shreds of doubt continually creep back into your mind. Factual, fictional or both, CASTING FIDELITY playfully deconstructs the meanings of authorship, autobiography, fiction and reality.
